BENGALURU: Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Restricted (BEL), on Monday mentioned it not too long ago signed a contract with Airbus Defence and Area for manufacture and provide of radar warning receiver (RWR) and missile method warning system (MAWS) for the C295 plane.
The contract it mentioned was a part of Airbus’ offset commitments underneath the C295 plane programme of the Authorities of India, and that it was consistent with the ‘Make in India’ coverage.
“The contract is the most important export order acquired until date by BEL. We’re very comfortable to be a part of the C295 programme,” Vinay Kumar Katyal, director, BEL Bengaluru Complicated, mentioned.
As per a press release issued by the PSU, the export order is value $93.15 million. “…The contract was signed on November 17,” the assertion learn.
Anandi Ramalingam, CMD, BEL mentioned the PSU seems to be ahead to working with Airbus for extra such programmes and challenges.
