Video conferencing technology is over two decades old. Yet, we continue to face irritants, disrupting the flow of our meetings. “I can’t hear you.” “Sorry, you are on mute.” “I think there is some background noise.”
“Are you sharing your screen.” These are statements we often hear in our meetings. There are also times when everyone speaks together. I would love to see the evolution of a smart video conferencing platform that would not only be intelligent and adaptive to provide an ideal and productive meeting environment, but also look at video conferences more holistically from content and next-steps perspective. This technology will ensure that conversations are seamless, discussions are effective, and the context is captured, analysed, and communicated, with no scope for any visual/ audio disturbances and undesirable situations.
We must move towards a comprehensive technology that leverages AI, ML, NLP, sentiment analysis, IoT sensors, and other intelligent tools to enable productive, distraction-free, and effective meetings.
