The railways has envisaged a plan to redevelop virtually 1,300 prime stations within the nation as ‘Amrit Bharat Stations’.

In Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, 55 every such stations can be developed at the price of about ₹4,000 crore, 34 stations in Madhya Pradesh at approx ₹1,000 crore, and 44 in Maharashtra at ₹1,500 crore. Moreover, a number of railway stations in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, amongst others, can be redeveloped.
