Inaugurating the worldwide textile occasion, Bharat Tex 2024, the prime minister requested textiles producers to conduct a market survey in African international locations in addition to the EU and design clothes as per their necessities.

India is the world’s sixth-largest exporter of textiles and attire, with the home attire and textile trade contributing about 2.3% to the nation’s GDP, 13% to industrial manufacturing, and 12% to exports.
India’s textile and attire market measurement is rising at a compound annual development fee of 14.59% and is anticipated to succeed in $387.3 billion by 2028 from $172.3 billion in 2022, based on the Indian Model Fairness Basis, a physique established by the ministry of commerce and trade.
Exports of ready-to-wear textile merchandise elevated 11% to $11.57 billion in January from $10.13 billion in December, based on the commerce ministry.
